The role is based out of Kenya, and you will be responsible for pushing Mara Phones into this new market—with a specific focus on the telco, banking and retail space! ( You need to be well connected in that space!)

 

Business Development Consultant Duties and Responsibilities

● Drive the business development aspect on the business with specific emphasis on pushing Mara Phones into the telco, banking and retail space!
● Building strong relationships with industry professionals, vendors and competitors
● Work with your superiors to plan, develop and oversee the overall business development strategy
● Putting together go-to-market plans, revenue success plans and sales strategy plans based on your activities
● Push to meet your KPI’s allocated to you from your direct report
● Drive yourself to ensure deadlines are met and budgets are maintained
● Uphold our values and vision
● Compiling regular market research reports
● Retention of your existing clients and the new clients you bring on board
● Collaborate with leadership to strategize how best to roll out product line
● Synthesize monthly, quarterly, and annual reports on progress and development (CRM experience is advantageous!)
● Contribute to the overall pan-African success of our company

 

Business Development Consultant Requirements and Qualifications

● Master’s degree, MBA or other relevant field, strongly preferred
● 5+ years’ or more experience in Business Development/ Sales specifically within the telco/ banking/ retail space
● Excellent command of MS Office and CRM software
● Exceptionally well organized and driven by success
● Ability to thrive in high-pressure situations
● Outstanding negotiating and sales skills- a true ‘sales hunter’
● Analytical thinker with superior problem-solving skills
● A natural leader who inspires and motivates those around them
