The role is based out of Durban, South Africa(Dude Trade Port) and you will be responsible for the success of our expansion into this new market—overseeing all aspects of the business!

 

Country Manager Duties and Responsibilities
● Manage every aspect of our newly expanding operation in SA
● Drive the Business Development aspect on the business with specific emphasis on

 

Government relations
● Drive your team to ensure deadlines are met and budgets are maintained
● Ensuring the highest level of production efficiency, people planning and cost control
● Recruit the very best talent in this new market
● Negotiate with vendors and service providers needed for production
● Collaborate with local businesses to acquire all the necessary resources and services
● Develop marketing and production teams with local expertise
● Collaborate with leadership to strategize how best to roll out product line
● Synthesize monthly, quarterly, and annual reports on progress and development (CRM experience is advantageous!)
● Network effectively with local clients and develop strong professional relationships
● Adapt the business model to be culturally relevant without losing its identity
● Mentor direct reports, especially in regard to our values and vision
● Contribute to the overall pan-African success of our company

 

Country Manager Requirements and Qualifications
● Master’s degree, MBA or other relevant field, strongly preferred
● 5-10 years’ or more experience in management in an international business setting(leading teams)
● A background in manufacturing/ FMCG is highly preferred
● Great ‘know how’ of consumer goods marketing
● Exceptionally well organized and driven by success
● Ability to thrive in high-pressure situations
● Outstanding negotiating and sales skills
● Analytical thinker with superior problem-solving skills
● Solid history of data-driven strategic development
● A natural leader who inspires and motivates those around them
