Job Description

Mama Money is hiring a streetwise, energetic and highly dynamic Digital Marketing Manager, who has deep experience in driving through-the-line marketing campaigns in the digital financial services and remittances arena.


Marketing Strategy and brand

  • Lead Mama Money’s brand and marketing community and digital strategy
  • Identify, develop, and manage the creation of content for the market – written, videos, presentations, social media, above the line and through the line marketing campaigns
  • Identify marketing growth areas and experiments, to improve product adoption with a specific digital focus
  • Develop and maintain relationships with digital partners, local press contacts, corridor specific publications and in marketing publications
  • Actively manage the Mama Money marketing budget and spend to ensure the best return on investment.


Search Engine Marketing

  • Plan, design and execute paid search campaigns (Google AdWords, Bing, etc.)
  • Monitor performance of our company’s search campaigns across all markets
  • Develop creative and new ways to market our products through existing paid search channels and continuously testing new platforms and providers
  • Take ownership for and build SEM dashboards and monitor critical metrics
  • Analyze results, identifying actionable opportunities (targeting, optimization, creative direction, etc.) to improve performance and scale
  • Independently own and handle day-to-day PPC optimizations
  • Devise, launch, and measure all experiments
  • Maximise opportunities for keyword, geography, and channel expansion
  • Work closely with the broader Mama Money Growth team to devise and implement full-funnel user acquisition strategies


Advertising and Display partnerships

  • Defining and delivering display advertising strategies to achieve our traffic, revenue, and efficiency targets
  • Planning, execution and analysis of the Display advertising campaigns end to end (briefs, creative design, targeting, media buy, testing, tracking set-up, scheduling, etc.)
  • Actively recruit and diversify your portfolio of publishers that specialize in promotion methods with traffic on CPA or rev-share models
  • Performing ROI analysis to evaluate the effectiveness of campaigns
  • Review and analyse data from the channels to optimize affiliate revenue
  • Provide affiliates with strategies and resources to promote our brands, including custom banner ads, landing pages, tracking links, technical help and more


Social Media

  • Mastering and optimizing existing campaigns utilizing third party and internal tools, required to deliver efficient and profitable Paid Social campaigns
  • Build custom audiences to target and retarget customers and drive conversions on different sources
  • Leading the campaign strategy, researching potential marketing channels, analyzing competitors, and adopting a robust test & learn approach
  • Work with the design team to test different ad concepts and copies to increase the ROI
  • Analyzing and reporting data on a daily / weekly / bi-weekly / monthly & ad-hoc basis to gather actionable insights and share it with the team
  • Work with the Data team to understand how paid social integrates with other media formats and channels



  • Work with the marketing team to create visual assets that clearly communicate strategy and design intent
  • Analyse data and create visuals for marketing campaigns based on your findings
  • Run A/B testing on ad types, including imagery and copy, and test different CTA’s
  • Design and execute thought-provoking market-leading content using visuals, FB canvas ads, HTML5, storyboards, short videos and GIFs
  • Be responsible for the design of all marketing elements, including ads, social media posts, blog imagery etc
  • Create infographics that communicate complex ideas and concepts in a simple and clear manner
  • Execute and ensure efficient and consistent branding processes
  • Understand the psychology behind the customer decision making process and use this insight to determine which visuals, colours and CTA’s to use


What you need

  • Relevant Marketing qualification and 3-5 years proven relevant experience.
  • An in-depth knowledge Search Engine Optimisation including keyword optimization and a good understanding of search engine bidding strategies and implementation
  • Good knowledge of display advertising, retargeting, Facebook Ads or Youtube advertising
  • A passion for design, marketing, metrics and analysis
  • An understanding of the psychology behind the customer decision making process
  • Knowledge of design limitations around social media, adverts etc
  • Outstanding communication, brainstorming and collaboration skills with obsessive attention to detail
  • A deep knowledge of keyword optimization and a good understanding of search engine bidding
  • strategies and implementation
  • Strong quantitative & analytical skills; able to use data to optimize day-to-day performance
  • Demonstrates a structured and methodical way of working, with the ability to cope with competing demands and effectively prioritize tasks.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, leadership and negotiation skills
  • Someone who has a bias for action and can get things done
