The Digital Frontiers Institute (DFI) is proud to announce its new strategic partnership with TalentintheCloud, Africa’s only FinTech recruitment specialists. This partnership will ensure a close relationship between fintech talent and development on the continent, boosting the sector with highly trained and well-placed professionals.

“We believe this partnership will not only boost the credibility of our Chartered Digital Finance Practitioner certification within the sector, but it will allow our graduates to be front and centre in recruiting processes throughout the continent, thanks to TalentintheCloud’s unparalleled access to digital financial services companies in Africa,” says Debra Roodt, CMO of DFI.

DFI prepares tomorrow’s fintech leaders for the challenges and opportunities they will encounter in a fast-changing and disruptive landscape. Through online executive education courses, targeted research into the fintech industry, and its growing league of industry professionals, DFI builds capabilities with the view to bridge capacity gaps that exist especially in developing markets.

TalentintheCloud is Africa’s only dedicated fintech talent sourcing business. All of its clients are in the fintech space. Focusing on putting talent first, their goal is to improve the way companies recruit by combining technology and human expertise. Together, their founding team has many decades of international experience in recruitment, talent acquisition, marketing, operations and customer service that is unrivalled in the markets they serve.

“We wanted to partner with DFI to help address the ever-increasing skills gap between traditional and digital banking. We see a huge gap in the market for recognised digital financial services professionals and we believe that the synergy between DFI and TalentintheCloud can help address that,” says Darren Franks, founder and CEO of TalentintheCloud.

DFI’s formalised and accredited Chartered Digital Finance Practitioner (CDFP) certification is at the cutting edge of digital finance trends and is aimed at graduates who want to pursue a professional career in digital finance, with specialisations in regulation, customers and technology.

“Accredited courses like the CDFP are crucial in a digital finance market like Africa,” Roodt adds. “They allow graduates to distinguish themselves in a fiercely competitive market, especially where demand for experienced professionals is so high. Getting an accreditation behind your name gives you the solid foundations you need to build a career in the industry.”

DFI’s 2017 Fintech Talent Africa Report, which draws on a cross-sectoral survey of more than 400 leaders, managers and professionals across 69 organisations and 10 sub-Saharan African countries, found that the demand for talent on the continent completely outstripped the available talent. This makes it absolutely crucial for the continued functioning of the industry to develop more talent and to get them in front of the companies that need them.

“There’s a war for Digital Financial services talent right now. Few people have the right skills and experience, so a certification will certainly help you stand out from the crowd. That’s the kind of talent our clients across the continent are looking for,” says Franks.
